Jesus is now bringing the listeners to the point of  decision as they must chose the proper way. The Savior understood it was not enough to just have information, one must come to the point of accepting. Which way are you traveling today-the broad or the narrow way?

Jesus now turns to the important of prayer. He dealt with prayer in chapter 6, but He now explains how we can fulfill the demands of the Sermons on the Mount. It is impossible in our power to meet the demands given, only when we allow the Holy Spirit to work is this possible.

We must always keep our lives in a Godly balance. As Jesus Christ finished the Sermon on the Mount, He speaks of a danger we must avoid. We must always evaluate our own lives. He is telling us to be discerning and to start the examination in our own heart.

All of God’s people must live by certain disciplines. Today, in Proverbs 4:23-27, we are going to look at a section that speaks of these disciplines. The author of Proverbs uses the setting of a father giving advise to his son. -Pastor Compton
